Wellness Roller

Y’all, this is the season to keep your immune system in tip-top shape! It makes me cringe to start hearing all the coughing and sniffling that starts happening this time of year. I literally wash my hands 50-60 times a day. I should really try to keep count one day and actually see. But honestly, I try to take so many precautions to keep my wellness up; I wash my hands, use my Thieves Hand Sanitizer when I’ve been in public places, at work I use only my pen, and I try my dangdest not to touch doorknobs, (I use my elbow or bum to push open or close doors.) But one of my biggest things I use to combat the nasties is being diligent about using my Wellness Roller.

It’s so simple, I roll it onto the bottoms of both feet before putting on my socks in the morning and just like that it’s boosting my immune system. One Cute Cowboy prefers to roll his on before bed—and sometimes we both roll it on morning and night! So I decided to share my wellness roller blend with all of my lovely followers! So here’s what I use, and why:

Thieves: So this one may be a little “on the nose” because of course our wellness roller is going to have Thieves, the mother of “wellness” oil! Thieves contains Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus Radiata, and Rosemary Cineol. It’s an immune stimulant, a purifier, and can help reduce mental fatigue.

Frankincense: Easily one of my favorite oils. It’s known as an oil enhancer so any oil’s properties that are paired with Frankincense will be amplified. Seriously, how cool is that?! It also helps promote emotional balance, reduces stress (which is SO important to your immune system) and of course is another great immune stimulant.

Tea Tree: When I was pregnant with Little Bear, because I was so limited on what I could and couldn’t use to fight off the nasties, I’d roll this single oil on my feet each day. It’s a great antioxidant, expectorant, and it’s antiviral. An oil that, in my opinion, doesn’t get enough spotlight! I love this oil!

Copaiba: This is one I’ve really started using a lot the last 7-8 months. It’s a huge help with inflammation. And let’s face it inflammation isn’t good in your body for any reason. Boosts the Cardiovascular system and supports overall wellness in the body.

These are the main 4 I always use in my Wellness Roller, but sometimes I add one of these–

Eucalyptus Radiata: I loooovvveee the smell of this one and it’s almost always in my shower blends. It’s energizing, it’s huge in respiratory support, and helps with inflammation.

Lemon: I always have Lemon on hand! It’s a huge antioxidant, provides circulatory support and contains cleansing properties.

So I usually just kind of wing-it when it comes to how many drops of each oil I do, but here’s a round-about what it usually contains.

15 drops of Thieves

10 drops of Frankincense

10-15 drops of Tea Tree

10-15 drops of Copaiba

5-8 drops of Eucalyptus Radiata

10-15 drops of Lemon

Then I fill the rest of the roller up with a carrier oil like Young Living’s V-6 oil or coconut oil. For the bottle I usually recycle an old 15ml oil bottle and pop a roller ball on top and just like that it’s done! It literally takes 2 minutes to put together and lasts a month or more.

I’d love to answer any of your questions you might have about this blend or oils in general, so shoot me a message! I love to talk oils! Hope you enjoyed this recipe!

*Disclaimer* I’m a firm believe in oils and their healing properties but I’m most certainly not a doctor, I am not a homeopathic guru, I’m just sharing what’s worked for me and my family. I highly recommend consulting with a doctor before orally consuming any oil. Also, I don’t recommend using straight oil on the skin if you’ve never used that particular oil before. When using an oil for the first time I always recommend using it with a carrier oil like Coconut oil or any vegetable based oil, for it may show skin irritants otherwise. Cinnamon bark is a potent oil along with Clove. Always keep in mind while using oils to use sparingly. Lastly I am not saying these oils will cure any ailment, I’m simply stating that these are oils that have worked for me.**

What does your label read?

We are the generation of “label readers.” To me, this isn’t a bad thing. It just means we’ve become conscious of living the best and cleanest way we can. Whenever I see something new I want to try whether it be food, beauty products, or items for my household, I read the label. I want to know what it’s made up of, what ingredients are used, and how will those affect my family and I. I’m amazed at the things that are considered “safe” to use in some products, whether it be a minuscule amount or not. I read the other day the average woman puts 5lbs of harmful chemicals on her skin a year. Five. Pounds. That’s completely insane to me!!

When I became pregnant with Lil Cute Cowboy, I became incredibly aware of what I was putting on and in my body. Now that he’s here, I’m just as obsessive about what’s not only going on my body (since we snuggle up everyday and essentially what’s going on mine is going on his) but what I’m putting on his body as well. Now, I know what you’re thinking, “Okay, we get it ya ‘ol hippie! Go green…or whatever!” I’m not trying to necessarily convince anyone of anything, I just think as a whole, we can do so much better in this world. We can take care of ourselves and others better than what we have in the past. #KnowBetterDoBetter

This is, what I would I say, the era of “all natural” and “organic.” Seems like there’s an organic option for just about everything. I’m only going to lightly touch on this one, do I think organic is always the way to go?Not necessarily. We have the knowledge and the resources to know what is and isn’t harmful to our bodies and minds, so why not do the best we can? And Yes, you read that right, our minds. Do I think the moisturizer I put on my face of an evening could possibly affect my state of mine? Absolutely. Do I think that can of Coke OCC is drinking daily could possibly be affecting his mind? I think it’s quite possible. There are so many things out there that can change and modify the chemicals in our body, that it’s scary once you start reading the possible affect some ingredients can have on you.

One Cute Cowboy would tell you I’m a hippie at heart, because I’m always looking for a natural solution. Now, I know, the thought of trying to “go green” or completely change to organic or all natural or back to the “old ways” of doing things is a daunting task. I don’t want to give the wrong impression, One Cute Cowboy and I are pretty conscientious of the things we use on a daily basis and what we put into our bodies, but we definitely do not have it all figured out. We still eat Cheetos, use store bought shampoo, drink cokes (OCC gets to anyway) eat frozen meals, and don’t exercise like we should. Okay, maybe I don’t exercise like I should, OCC gets quite a bit of exercise daily. But my point is, we’re starting to take small steps to try and take out some harmful things in our daily lives and really strive to be the best we can, not just for ourselves but for our little bear. We want him to have a full life and be able to thrive.

Now, up there I said we use store bought shampoo, that’s a bit of a fib. We’re in the process of changing over our shampoo to a more natural, toxic-free option, along with our body soap, the cleaner in our house, and our laundry regiment. Most of you know, I’m an oily gal, and Young Living has come out with some amazing household and beauty products that are, you guessed it, toxic free! Young Living is a brand I fully trust because of their “Seed to Seal” promise. If you’d like to read more about what that means, you can go here.

We just recently got rid of all the toxic cleaners in our house, and replaced it with one, non-toxic cleaner. Thieves Household Cleaner. I do mean all the cleaners in my house.

Windows✔️Countertops✔️ Appliances✔️ Floors✔️ Bathtub/Shower✔️ Toilet✔️Baby Gadgets✔️

It covers all the bases and plus it helps boost your immune system while you clean! Whoop whoop!! We’re in the process of “ditch and switch” with several other things too.

One recent switch we’ve made is our sunscreen. One Cute Cowboy goes through a lot of sunscreen. He wears it just about 300 days a year since he’s in the sun so much! I hated the thought of him putting those chemicals on his body day in and day out (y’all your epidermis is your largest organ, take care of it!) Young Living came out with a mineral based sunscreen that not only works fantastically, but OCC and I can visually tell it’s been better for his skin. No more redness from his skin reacting to the chemicals in his old sunscreen.

So, my point being, make good choices for you and your family. Get interested in what you’re consuming, internally and externally. You may ask yourself, “does it really matter? If it’s only a little bit {of toxins} in (fill in the blank) is it really doing me any harm?” My answer will be, “YES! It matters because YOU matter.” If there’s just a “little bit of toxins” in 90% of the products you use, then think about what that’s building up in your body. I don’t know about you, but I know where I’m making my vote, and that’s with where I spend my money for better products for me and my family. Like I said above Know better, do better!

{steps off soapbox} ☺️

If any of y’all are interested in learning more about Young Living products or are ready to ditch and switch the products in your home, shoot me an email or go sign up here. Or if you’re interested to see just how harmful some of the products in your household are, download the “Think Dirty” app and look them up! It’s helped open my eyes a lot!

Holiday Travel Oils

I use my oils every day in some form or fashion. My main way is diffusing oils, so when I’m traveling that becomes more of a challenge. These four oils are the ones I brought with me during my holiday travel, and this is how I used each one.

🍊 Orange: I brought orange oil with me to put in my shower in the morning. Orange helps boost your immune system and is uplifting.

🌲Tea Tree: This has become one of my favorite go-to oils! I brought it along to keep my immunity up. This is one I’ve been diffusing every night, so since I don’t carry a diffuser, I put it on the bottoms of my feet. This is also great to have along with you for hormonal or stress breakouts. Put a dab of tea Tree oil on the place, and it helps clear it up.

🔮Lavender: In the winter months, I have a really hard time with my hands drying out. They get dry and crack and bleed and it seems like they’ve been especially bad these last couple weeks (a few months back I burnt my right hand, and it’s been super irritated since.) So each night I’ve been putting Lavender on my hands to help heal them up. I feel like it’s made such a difference!

🌿 Eucalyptus Blue: Now, I’ll admit, Eucalyptus Blue isn’t my favorite eucalyptus. I usually always use Eucalyptus Radiata. But Eucalyptus Blue will also serve the same purpose as Radiata. I put 1 or 2 drops in the shower to help open up my sinuses in the mornings. It seems like when I travel, I always wake up with a stuffy nose, so this really helps me open up my sinuses first thing in the morning.

Those are the 4 oils I’m traveling with this year. What are your favorite oils to travel with?

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas! Thanks for reading!

Wednesday {Pregnancy} Favorites

Today I want to share what has become some of my go-to’s since I’ve become pregnant. {Keep in mind, these aren’t just pregnancy products, anyone can use them!}

I never realized how aware I’d become of not only what I put in my body but on my body. I’ve always heard all the things you can and can’t have to eat while pregnant, and trust me, the struggle is real! The interesting thing is that what you’re putting on your body can be just as detrimental because it can still penetrate into your bloodstream and through your body to the little bear you’re growing inside. I’ve always tried to use more natural products but I realized not everything is as “natural” as they appear. Being pregnant it’s not recommended to use any beauty products that contain salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. There are some other ingredients that are also questionable, but these two are the main ones to try to stay away from using. I’m currently 24- weeks pregnant and these are some of my current natural skin care favorites I’ve used that, as far as I’ve found, do not contain either of those ingredients!

  1. Green + Lovely Better-than-Butter Belly Oil

Belly oil

Y’all, I’m pretty certain this stuff has been my saving grace from stretch marks starting! I started using this on my belly, chest, and thighs since around week 12 of pregnancy and haven’t seen a stretch mark yet. This oil has all kinds of goodness in it to help your skin with elasticity and to stay hydrated through the stages of pregnancy. It’s made with olive, coconut, and almond oils, along with essential oil and non GMO Vitamin E oil. I’ve used the Lavender scented and the one I’m currently using is tangerine orange, which I think I actually prefer over the Lavender. This stuff is pure gold in my books!

2. Whiskey River Soap Company Deodorant

I’ve been using this deodorant for over a year now and absolutely love it! My cousin and her friend actually make it, along with a few other healthy skincare products. It’s all natural ingredients and completely aluminum-free! I love the grapefruit, but they also make Lemon, Lavender, and Purification. It’s been such a great alternative to store bought deodorant and my underarms are smooth and don’t break out from shaving like they used to. It’s wonderful stuff!

3. U.S. Apothecary Witch Hazel Face & Body Tonic

I personally think one should always have witch hazel on hand. It’s great for itchy bites and healing scrapes and cuts. I bought this on a whim when we visited The Pioneer Woman’s Mercantile last spring. It has an added rose water which makes it a great toner for your face after you’ve washed it at night or before you put on your makeup in the mornings. When I became pregnant my tummy (and belly button) started to feel itchy because of all the stretching my skin was starting to do. I found this tonic spray highly helpful! When I start to have an itchy spot on my tummy or side I just spritz this on and it soothes the itch and subsidies the urge to scratch. I love this stuff, though I found its not easy to find. The best part is, it’s only 3 ingredients!

4. Young Living Tee Tree Oil

When you’re pregnant you may have these really fun hormonal breakouts (sense the sarcasm.) The hard thing is to find something safe you can use to help prevent and rid these breakouts. I found that if I put one to two drops of Tee Tree oil on a q-tip and held it on the place a few seconds after washing my face, usually in the morning it was barely noticeable or almost completely gone. This has really been a life saver. It’s even helped cleanse the air in my house when I diffuse it in the evenings. Gives me a fresh, clean feeling. I can never say enough good things about my Young Living Oils! If ever you’re interested in Young Living, send me a message or email me, I’d love to help you out!

5. Korres Wild Rose Brightening 24-hour Moisturizer

I’d like to give a big shout-out to my Ipsy bag for sending me this little treasure! This is only a travel size but it started me off on the right foot when I first became pregnant and realized my usual moisturizer had salicylic acid in it. I was glad that I hadn’t used this up yet and grew to love the way it made my skin feel and look. I’m looking forward to getting a full sized jar of it. It’s so silky, it feels great!

There you have it, my current top 5 “pregnancy safe” products! Hope you’ve enjoyed, and keep in mind, these aren’t just pregnancy products, anyone can use them!

***Disclaimer***

I am not claiming that all pregnant women would be safe to use the products above, I’m only stating what has worked so far for me in my personal pregnancy. Every woman, and every woman’s body and pregnancy can be different. Always consult your doctor if you’re unsure or have questions about using a product. Never just “take someone’s advice,” do your own research to see what’s going to work best for you! 🙂

Squeaky Clean

IMG_9289

I don’t do a lot of DIY’s, but I do love this easy cleaner I’ve stumbled onto. I have a sink that was originally installed in the 70’s, so it has it’s permanent stains and scratches, and since it’s porcelain, it’s sometimes hard to get clean. I usually use Bar Keeper’s Friend, and it’s great stuff, but I felt like it was being pretty harsh on my already worn, vintage porcelain sink. I decided to try a combination of Baking Soda & Young Living Lemon essential oil, and I love the results I’ve gotten. Sidetone: I absolutely love my lemon oil, it’s probably my most used oil next to my Lavender. I use it in the garbage disposal, I diffuse it in almost all of my diffuser combos, and I love to use it in my laundry for a fresh smell.

I’ve been using this combo to clean my sink the last couple of months.

Here was my sink before I applied my mixture. Riley being a coffee drinker and I a tea drinker, our sink stains pretty fast with our mugs and whatnot. As I said before, it has it’s fair share of worn scratches and stains. Then I applied my mixture:

FullSizeRender 2

Just simple Baking Soda and my Young Living Lemon oil. I shook the baking soda across the sink until most surfaces with stains or scratches were covered. Then I dropped about 10 drops of lemon oil to each side of the sink.

IMG_9287

I let that set for a few minutes. Then I grabbed a regular ‘ol sponge and wet the sponge just enough to make it damp, not soaked and went to work. This is where you really gotta put in your elbow grease and scrub a bit. It starts to form a paste and you can visually see the stains starts to come up. Once I feel like I’ve done all the scrubbing it needs, I give it a good rinse and repeat on the other side. When I was finished I was happy to see my sink’s pearly smile again!

FullSizeRender 3

It’s not perfect but it definitely gave me a clean sink and that makes me happy. Not only is it an easy, cheap sink cleaner, I also feel good about not using any harsh chemicals on my vintage, fragile sink. This is the perfect fix! 😉

Hope you’ve enjoyed my little DIY! What are some of your go-to cleaning remedies?

Summer Heat Blend☀️

Y’all, I don’t fair well in the summer heat. I’m a cool weather girl through and through. Today is our first really hot day this season. Reaching 100 today in the Oklahoma Panhandle, but luckily there’s a little wind to accompany it.

Today, this is the essential oil blend I’m diffusing in my house. It feels “cool” to me and helps me forget it’s starting to warm up outside.

You can substitute the Cypress with Peppermint and that also gives it a nice cooling sensation.

Stay cooled-off my friends!

My Favorite Oils

I’m sure everyone has heard of essential oils in some form or fashion. I use my Young Living oils on a daily basis, whether it be for allergies, to uplift my mood, or something else, I try to turn to oils first. Today I want to share with you 6 of my favorite oils.

Lavender

Lavender was the first oil I really felt confident and safe in using. The smell of lavender holds a special place in my heart. When One Cute Cowboy and I got married, our friends and family threw lavender at us when we left, instead of bird seed or bubbles. The smell, to this day, still reminds me of leaving with him, hand-in-hand as Mr. & Mrs. I just love it.

Anyway, on with the oil! This is one of my favorites because it is so versatile! Traditionally it’s been known to balance the body and to work wherever it is needed. From stretch marks, to the cardiovascular system, to down-in-the-dumps, to wrinkles, to sleeplessness, this is a great oil.

This is one I diffuse every night, not only to help with sleep, but it’s part of my seasonal blend that I diffuse every night. This combination helps cool down the body’s inflammation. Lavender is also great for bug bites. It helps heal them, and keep them from itching. I’m one of those people who has some kind of crazy DNA that makes bugs looooovvve me, so I go through several bottles  of lavender in the summertime. It’s also great for burns. It’s important that you use pure therapeutic grade oils when dealing with burns, or anything for that matter. Young Living oils are all pure therapeutic grade oils. Which means they are in their purest form from the origins they come from. I had a bad 2nd degree burn a couple of years ago, and it was Young Living’s Lavender that I trusted to use on it and heal it. I always, always have a bottle of Lavender on hand.

Lemon

I absolutely love this oil! It smells so fresh and clean. It’s an antidepressant, antioxidant, and antiviral just to name a few. I love to diffuse this one when I feel like I’m in a funk. It helps uplift your mood and it’s just a bonus that it makes your house smell like you just got done doing a deep clean. It’s also a great air purifier for when you feel like your house has a funky smell, or if you have animals inside, this helps rid that pet smell sometimes those lovey-doveys put off.

Lemon is also a great cleaning agent. I use it in my sinks, my washing machine, and it’s great for my garbage disposal. I love love love Lemon! Put a drop in your water, and taste it’s bursting flavor!

Peppermint

I’m a lover of all types of mint. Peppermint being my favorite. Peppermint has been used to help with digestive systems for centuries, soothing digestive difficulties. It’s also great for head tension, digestive difficulties , motion sickness, and seasonal support. I use this in my diffuser a lot. Its a great one to mix with other scents to freshen things up. I also use this in my shower to help open up my sinuses, put it in my hot tea when I’m feeling under the weather, and sometimes just plain ‘ol diffuse it for a mood lifter. When I’ve had tummy trouble, putting a drop of this oil in a glass of water and drinking it has helped tremendously. I love peppermint!

Frankincense

This is the mother of all oils. It’s my go-to when I don’t know what else to use. It’s mentioned being used over 52 times in the Bible, and is considered a holy oil. This is an immune stimulant and overall great wellness booster. I diffuse it often at night in my nightly mix. It’s said to be a good emotional balancer which is gold in my books. This is also a good oil for anti aging, and problematic skin. One of my biggest uses for it, is when I have a tummy ache, I rub it on my stomach/abdomen and it helps relive pains. It’s also a great oil to diffuse while praying or concentrating, for it increases spiritual awareness. It’s an expensive oil, but one I find is well worth the money. I never let mine run out.

Stress-Away-Essential-Oil

Picture borrowed from the Young Living website

Stress Away

I absolutely love the smell of this oil. It does exactly what is says, it melts stress away. If you read about this oil on Young Living it states,

Those suffering from stress tend to have weaker immune systems, and are more susceptible to cardiovascular diseases, and to experience more premature cell aging. This blend is specifically formulated to relieve everyday stresses and tensions…for a healthier and happier life.

To me, that says it all. It comes in a handy roller bottle so I love to keep this one in my purse so when I’m feeling overwhelmed or stressed, no matter where I am, I can roll a little bit across the back of my neck or my wrists and breathe in it’s lovely scent. This is a compound oil, consisting of: Copal (or Capaiba), Lime, Cedarwood, Ocotea, and Lavender. These oils have healing properties of anti-inflammation, lifting depression, aiding in emotional balance, and relaxation, just to name a few.

Sacred Mountain

Last, but not least Sacred Mountain. I love this woodsy blend. This is a blend of 4 different oils. Spruce, which helps ground the body, creating balance, helping one release emotional blocks. Ylang Ylang helping balance the male & female energies. It brings feelings of joy, self-love, and peace. Fir helps the feelings of empowerment, and Cedarwood, which was traditionally used by indians to enhance their spiritual communication. This combination gives off a really positive vibe, that I love. It helps when I’m feeling a little off-kilter to diffuse this oil. Especially when I’m feeling out of sorts, or emotionally drained. It has a nice woodsy smell to it, and I love diffusing this one on a rainy day. Also, a great one to diffuse during prayer, meditation, or your daily devotional time. Fun fact found on the Young Living app on Sacred Mountain,

The conifer oils have been traditionally used by the North American Indians symbolically to represent the umbrella they create in protecting the Earth and bringing energy in from the universe. At night, the animals in the wild lie under the trees for the protection, recharging, and rejuvenation the trees bring to them.

Oils can be a powerful thing, they’ve been used for centuries, and I’m a firm believer in their powers.

So there are my 6 favorite oils! I’d love to hear feedback from ya’ll on what you think about essential oils.

As always,

**Keep in mind, I am not a doctor, I am not a homeopathic guru, I’m just sharing what’s worked for me and my family.

Quick Shower Soother

Back when I was in college I fell in love with the Vick’s menthol shower disks. I loved how they cleared my sinuses and helped wake me up while I took a shower. Since then I’ve tried making the disks myself and I ended up with a crumbly, not very potent mess. I was disappointed. I had used quite a bit of oils only to find the disks weren’t very strong smelling and super hard to store.

With that said I’d like to share with you my quick version of a shower Soother. I instead call it a Shower Soother Bomb. This is one you can mix together just minutes before hoping in the shower.

All you need is baking soda, img_7495

your favorite oils, and a glass container to mix it up in; I like to use my Pioneer Woman ramekins. They’re the perfect size and just so dang cute!

Essential oil shower soother

All you do is put about 1/4 a cup or so (I never measure it, I just fill one of these babies up about half way) and add in your oils and voila! All you have to do is add it to your shower. Super quick, super easy! I like to let my water warm up and pour it on the floor of the bathtub right where my shower water is hitting. It instantly fills your shower up with great smells. Whether your sinuses are bothering you or you just need a pick-me-up, these are a great way to start out your morning!

Here are my two favorite combos to use:

Allergy/Sinuses Combo:

4 drops of Lemon

4 drops of R.C. (this is a respiratory blend containing Eucalyptus (E. globulus), Myrtle, Pine, Marjoram, Eucalyptus radiate (my favorite of the Eucalyptuses), Eucalyptus citriodora, Lavender, Cypress, Tsuga, and Peppermint.

Shower soother

Wake Me Up Combo:

4 drops of Cypress

4 drops of Bergamot

4 drops of Lemon/Citrus Fresh

Shower soother

This is such a refreshing blend and puts me in a happy mood, ready to take on the day!

Another oil I love to add to either one of these blends is the Northern Lights Black Spruce oil. This stuff makes you feel like you’re walking through a forrest. It’s great for a stuffy nose as well as helping you wake up. I add two or three drops of it often to my mixtures.

So there you have it, a quick and easy way to make a “shower soother bomb.”

Happy President’s Day!

Young Living Thieves

I’m an oily gal, and Young Living’s Thieves is one I always make sure I have in my bag of tricks. It’s good for so many different things. It contains 5 different oils that make it highly affective in being able to boost your immune system which is especially handy in the flu/cold season. It contains:

Lemon: promotes health, healing, and energy.

Cinnamon Bark: a powerful purifier, oxygenator, and enchances the activity of other oils.

Clove: antibacterial, antifungal, a strong antiseptic, and an immune stimulant.

Eucalyptus Radiata: may have a strong antiviral effect on the repository system. Also has strong antiseptic, antibacterial, and anticatarrhal properties.

Rosemary Cineol: may help balance heart function, energize the solar plexus, and reduce mental fatigue. Helps improve circulation and help stimulate the nerves.

(The are descriptions used for each oil from the Young Living Reference Guide App)

Today I want to share with you three ways I love to use this oil.

1. Thieves Tea

During cold and flu season I add 1 drop of Thieves to my tea in the mornings to help fight off any bacteria or bad mojo in the air. Every morning I make my hot tea, my favorite to use when I’m using this oil is Twining English Breakfast. I steep my tea, add in my creamer (International Delights ColdStone is my absolute favorite to pair with this particular tea,) and I add one drop of Young Living’s Thieves oil. I use my small “frother” to get the oil mixed in well, a small whisk would work just as well. I do this because I feel just stirring with a spoon leaves the oil resting on top instead of really getting it combined. This mixture tastes a lot like a chai latte! I really love it, but do not recommend using more than one drop, for it’s a powerful flavor.

2. Diffusing Thieves

I’ve mentioned before that every night I run my diffuser in One Cute Cowboy and I’s room. I talked about my nightly seasonal blend in a previous post. I still use this same blend only I add 2-3 drops of Thieves. This is so One Cute Cowboy and I both get the benefits of it’s antiviral properties and in hopes to strengthen our immune systems to fight off nasty colds. Also it’s a great oil to diffuse if you ever have a room that’s smelling funky, this seems to purify the air in a sense, and leave it smelling warm and cozy.

3. Thieves for the bottoms of your feet

A lot of times at night before bed One Cute Cowboy will want me to rub some Thieves oil into the bottoms of his feet. This helps get the oil into our systems quickly, and as I’ve said above, we do this to help boost our immune system. We choose to use the feet because the bottoms of our feet have larger pores than any other surface of the body, so it only seems to make sense to put oils there so they can be absorbed into the body faster.

There’s my 3 favorite ways to use Thieves oil.

**Keep in mind, I am not a doctor, I am not a homeopathic guru, I’m just sharing what’s worked for me and my family. Lastly I am not saying these oils will cure a cold or flu, I’m simply stating that this oil can help boost your immune system and hopefully fight them off, but it is not bulletproof. :)**

Hope you’ve enjoyed this post! What are some of your favorite oils?
